Day 1 – Hanoi – Ha Giang (L)
The adventure starts with departure from Hanoi by road through some of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery in the country. Taking approximately seven hours the journey will stop at some small villages along the way for refreshments and photo opportunities. On arrival guests can stretch their legs with a short walk around Ha Giang to a traditional Tay village set in a charming valley close to the town. Overnight in Ha Giang.
Day 2 – Ha Giang – Meo Vac (B,L)
Following breakfast the tour continues North stopping at Meo Vac located on the Chinese border. The six-hour drive travels through many H’mong villages with several stops made along the route. Upon arrival at Meo Vac guests will enjoy trek along the banks of the Nho Que River visiting villages of the local Tay and Nung hill tribes. Overnight in Meo Vac.
Day 3 – Meo Vac – Dong Van (B,L)
The day starts with the chance to visit the traditional morning market of the hill tribes in the town. Then depart on a short drive and passing over the ‘Heaven’s Gate Pass’ to Dong Van. The road twists and winds high above a deep valley along the Chinese border. On arrival there is the opportunity for guests to explore the local villages and valleys around Dong Van. Overnight in Dong Van.
Day 4 – Dong Van – Lung Cu – Tam Son (Yen Minh) (B,L)
Following breakfast the tour departs Dong Van with a stunning drive to the northern most place in Vietnam, Lung Cu. Here discover the diversity of the north with a visit to the hill tribe market where local tribes all come to trade their wares. The tour will also take time to stop and visit at a former royal palace of a H’mong king. Guests can then take a walk through the town of Pho Bangwhere the lanes are filled with traditional Chinese-style houses. Continue the journey to Tam Son. Overnight in Tam Son (Yen Minh).
Day 5 – Tam Son (Yen Minh) – Ha Giang – Hanoi (B,L)
Beginning a full day of travel with the journey back to Hanoi which goes over the Tam Son Valley where guests can take a short trek to a H’mong village. Stopping again at Ha Giang for lunch before continuing onwards to Hanoi where you will arrive in the early evening. End of tour.
