As summer is coming, the first word that comes to my mind is beaches. How wonderful it is to sunbathe on a beautiful white-sand beach or swim in the cool water. Since Vietnam has a long coastline, there’re a lot of beautiful beaches through the country. Let’s check out some of the most beautiful ones.
1. Halong Bay
Halong Bay is much different from normal beaches with blue sea and white sand. Its unique features are the emerald water and thousands of isles rising from the sea, a magnificent view that you cannot find anywhere else. Taking a cruise trip or paddling a kayak around the bay and you will see how amazing it is.
On the other hand, If you’re a fan of white-sand beach, there are also some beautiful beaches on some small islands near Halong Bay, such as Coto Island, Cat Ba island. You’ll have to go to “Cai Rong” habour and get on the right boat to get to the islands.
Nha Trang is one of the most popular beach in Vietnam with 6 mile stretch of white-sand beach. Therefore, it is quite busy and developed in terms of accommodations, restaurants, fun activities and nightlife.
For those who like having fun, this place will suit you well. It offers all kinds of activities such as diving, wakeboaring, kite surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, and so on. Besides, there are also a lot of restaurants and bars, for those who likes nightlife.
Moreover, there is a big amusement park called Vinpearl Land located on an island near Nha Trang city with all kinds of water games that can keep you busy for a whole day. To get to the Vinpearl Land, you will have to take a 3 km cable car ride from mainland to the island. The view from the cable car is really cool, as the cable car is right above the ocean.
3. Phu Quoc
Located in the Gulf of Thailand off Vietnam’s south-west coast, Phu Quoc is actually closer to Cambodia than Vietnam, and from here you can see Kampot province of Cambodia, which is just 18 km in distance. Phu Quoc is now a trending travel destination in Vietnam and is developing very fast. In particular, a lot of hotels and resorts have opened here in the last few years. The airport was also renovated with international direct flights, which makes it much easier to get to this beautiful island. However, despite the fast development, Phu Quoc can still keep its rustic charm from quiet beaches to dirty small roads, from local fishing villages to sapphire blue waters.
Con Dao is a small island protected from tourism due to its remote location and limit of transportation. The Con Dao Island hides some of the most peaceful and untouched beaches in Vietnam and is the ideal place for people who passionate peaceful beauty, quite space and pristine landscapes.
Besides the beautiful beaches, Con Dao also has a fascinating history – which has left it with some haunting former prison buildings that are well worth a visit.
5. Mui Ne
Many people vote Mui Ne as the number one beach of Vietnam because of its large sand dunes, serene water, beautiful resorts and all-year warm weather. Besides, compare to other famous beaches such as Nha Trang or Phu Quoc, Mui Ne is much more affordable. However, the only disadvantage of Mui Ne is the transportation. There is no airport in the area and the only means of transportation to Mui Ne is by car. However, although it is only about 200 kilometre from Ho Chi Minh City, it can take up to 6 hours driving as the roads are quite small.
Summer is coming and hope that with my recommendations, you will be able to choose the best place for your summer vacation this year. So let’s pack our bikini and go!
